Event summary

The practice management course will provide an opportunity to understand the responsibilities of a member in practice but also to consider issues which affect practice management more generally. You’ll be given an opportunity to get connected to a network of like-minded and similar stage members and get to know those within ICAS who are able to offer you support in this new stage of your career.

It is a mandatory condition of obtaining a practising certificate from ICAS to undertake training which covers the following learning outcomes within 12 months (before or after) of a practising certificate being granted:

  • Understand regulatory landscape a PC holder operates in
  • Appreciate the essential responsibilities of being a PC holder
  • Recognise the key financial performance factors of a CA firm
  • Have knowledge of key challenges facing CA firms and the opportunities that they present

This course allows you to satisfy that requirement.

Key themes and topics

This course will follow a classroom and workshop format. The sessions will be an engaging collaborative manner of learning:

  • Basics of going into practice

  • Practice Regulation

  • PII claims and how to avoid them
